Every IILHI piece begins with a stainless steel core, finished in a layer of genuine 18K gold through PVD - physical vapor deposition. Unlike traditional gold plating, which sits loosely on the surface and wears away within months, PVD gold coating bonds to the metal at a molecular level, under vacuum, at high heat. The result is a finish several times harder and more durable than conventional plating, fused rather than applied.

We chose this process deliberately. A house built on precision does not compromise on what a piece can withstand. PVD 18K gold coating is tarnish-resistant, water-resistant, and unaffected by daily contact with sweat, sunscreen, or perfume - the realities of a life lived in the piece, not around it. The stainless steel core beneath adds a second advantage: strength and hypoallergenic wear that solid gold, softer and more easily marked, cannot offer in the same measure.

This is the definition of demi-fine jewellery done properly - not a lesser version of fine gold, but a considered alternative to it. PVD gold-coated stainless steel delivers the weight, colour, and longevity associated with solid gold, at a fraction of the cost and with none of the fragility. It is quality without excess, durability without compromise - the same standard that shapes every design decision at IILHI.
